Chris Cantell Discusses SigEx Telecom, Nokia, Cellphone Applications: Nokia lanseaza mobile newspaper Ioana Madalina Tantareanu
Faimosul grup Nokia asociat cu gruparea Malayalam Manorama, o publicatie din India, lanseaza un ziar pe mobil. Sistemul este bazat pe GPRS-pornit manual. Sporturi, calatorii, muzica, astrologie si filme sunt unele dintre cele mai noi categorii care vor fi accesibile prin portalul de stiri in limba nationala. Totodata utilizatorii de Nokia GPRS pornit vor putea accesa ambele stiri nationale si internationale in limba lor materna prin serviciul mobil. In plus stirile de pe mobil vor fi disponibile in 10 limbi printre care si cele ale tarilor: Hindi, Punjabi, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Mararthi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, si Kannada. Devinder Kishore, director de marketing la gruparea Nokia din India, spune ca deoarece introducerea internetului in zonele rurale este inca relativ slaba, Nokia va avea profita de introducerea mai rapida a mobilelor pentru a lansa ziarul pe mobil. A mai adaugat ca "ease-of-use(usor de folosit) este o propozitie cheie Nokia. Ca un leader noi vom putea continua sa lucram sa aducem imbunatatiri si servicii care sa simplifice vietile utilizatorilor nostrii." Pentru a accesa serviciul, utilizatorii trebuie sa trimita un sms cu textul "MM" la numarul 5555. Dupa aceasta, vor primi un URL de unde vor descarca un icon pentru zialul de pe mobil. Stirile vor fi actualizate la fiecare 30 de minute. Performante ca ziarul de pe mobil au un potential foarte bun sa revolutioneze industria ziarelor si portalul de stiri in limbi nationale Nokia va ajunge la momentul in care industria de publicare se pregateste pentru anticiparea e-paper-urilor.
