These are great news for people that usually have two phones for a cheaper way to talk with the others. It is useful not only to business man, but also to common people. China and Korea are the only two other countries that use a dual SIM phone. It is a spectacular two in one product and it has a system like waiting call option that you usually have on your phone. Whenever someone is calling you on one SIM while you are speaking on the other it will appear to you in order to decide what to do: either you answer; either you will see it later like a missed call. The company that launches the 2-in-1 product is Spice Ltd and will operate in two circles, Punjab and Kamataka. The target consumers are primarily the companies that use CDMA for better tariffs for their employees and also the business men that have to call in so many places. Also it's a better deal for the roaming users that travel a lot, across the World. This helps you to keep the desired SIM of the phone company that offers you more benefits than any other and also it is easier and more convenient to carry only one mobile phone, instead of two. 2-in-1 products will take over all the markets very soon, because of the increasing need of practicability. How could Google stand to be left behind anything?How could have they stood back and simply watch how the iPhone conquers glory and admiration from everywhere?Impossible! This is why Google is getting in an other business these months.We all know they're working hard to develop mobile applications because their users "asked them" and told them how much they would love to have Google Search and Google applications on their mobiles.What we didn't know till recently, is that Google is showing a phone prototype to vendors, a phone which could hit the market within a year.Not only their entering this new field but they have to introduce something original, something that will set them in front of Apple: they're planning on offering free subscriptions.How else could this be possible, other than by introducing advertisements with its search engine, e-mail and Web browser software applications?This would really mean something for those who can't afford a phone or for teenagers. Compared to the iPhone's price of $499 and the $60 per month for the AT&T Inc. service plan...Google's ad supported phone would really be a viable alternative.On the other hand I don't know how comfortable it would be for a business man to listen to two or three ads before calling a business partner...I don't think it would be comfortable for anyone. The model of ad-supported wireless Web hasn't been successful over the past 10 years. We're talking about Google though and I think if they've decided to go through with this, they did some proper research and they have big chances of success.I don't know anything about the features this Google phone will have, so I can't say if it has any chances to compete with the iPhone, but I'm sure the Web will soon fill up with news about it.

SigEx Telecom : Apple Heals Holes in iPhone, Mac OS, Safari

At the Black Hat conference from Las Vegas, researchers from Independent Security Experts (ISE), planned to demonstrate iPhone vulnerabilities. Just before that, Apple released fixes for iPhone, Mac OS and Safari 3.03 browser beta.Vulnerabilities for iPhone included include cross-site scripting, unexpected application termination, spoofing or arbitrary code execution and involved components such as Safari, WebCore and WebKit. The version 1.0.1 update is only available by donwloading on iPhone through iTunes."Before, we knew of two vulnerabilities, and they fixed five. I'm impressed with Apple to turn it around this quickly. If you think of the time needed to write the code and test it properly they did a good job turning it around in this short amount of time," said Amol Sarwate, research manager at vulnerability management company Qualys.Apple also released an update for Mac OS X 10.3 called "Panther," and 10.4 "Tiger, for fixing 45 bugs. Components of Mac OS X patched were CFNetwork, the Mac OS X library of network protocols; CoreAudio, the application programming interface that handles sound on Macs; the zgrep file-compression utility; iChat; and WebCore, the part of the WebKit application framework that handles HTML rendering.They released patches for Safari browser too: Safari 3.0.3 that fixes four flaws, two of which are vulnerabilities carried over from old code.

Nokia breaks records

The IDC released a report on how the cellphone market presented itself in the second quarter. There were some surprises, but mostly the top five of mobile telephony was the same like in 2006. I guess no one is surprised that Apple has not succeeded to shake the market and conquer the customers. After the numerous rumors about all the flaws and the high price, people were suspicious if it worth indeed all the trouble and the financial effort of acquiring the iPhone. However, things might change because it was just launched on the market, so it still has time to achieve the goal of selling 10 millions cellphones until the end of the fiscal year 2008. Taking a peak on the IDC's top we will see how the famous brand Nokia is dominating without concurrence the market, selling 100.8 millions products that mean around 1.1 millions per day. It is a dashing result, but I think that the quality and the reliable battery are the reasons for most of us prefer it. If last year you had Motorola on the second place, you will see it on the third, because Samsung surpassed with shipments of 37.4 million units. Motorola is the only one whose record shipments declined to 35.5 millions units, but still has some chances of recovering due to the 100 millionth Razor phone shipments. Sony Ericsson and LG are on the fourth and fifth position; the first had the most spectacular growth, while the latter remained on the same place like last year. Anyway, Nokia is preferred by lots of people all over the world, because they really offer good quality and the battery lasts for hours. There are so many types from which you can choose the perfect cellphone that would fit your needs and personality. I have a Motorola V223 and a Nokia 5700, but usually I use Motorola because it is really resistant to all the bumps. I've dropped it like nine times already and it is still like new and I never had to fix it. Well Nokia is the one would which I like to brag and I use it mostly for the music, but I am very gentle in the way I handle it because I don't want to break it. I think that the brand is so successful due to all the attention given to the customer's needs and our own perception on it. Stay connected there is more to come. Nokia is on the wave and breaks record, keep your eyes on them.

Apple goes European by Claudia Sonea

The giant company Apple Inc. fulfills the promise of launching its newest product, the iPhone. At the press release Steve Jobs, Apple Chief Executive, stated that the iPhone will go on sale in Britain on November 9 and O2 will have the monopole over its distribution. It will be the first time the 3 month old partnership between the mobile and media player companies will go outside the United States. Consumers will be able to find it in Apple stores, O2 retail outlets and The Carphone Warehouse at a $536 price, including the British value-added tax. Apple CEO Steve Jobs and O2 CEO Matthew Key did not give any comments on the details of their partnership, but rumor has it that O2 PLC offered 40 percent of their revenues from customers that use the device in exchange. Moreover the other 60 percent will be shared with The Carphone Warehouse. There were not given any specification on other countries were it might be launched, but Germany's Deutsche Telekom AG at a news conference in Berlin revealed that Dow Jones Newswires showed the desire to launch the iPhone in Germany. In Spain Telefonica SA is the favorite, while in France Orange is thought to be the chosen one. However, none of the companies mentioned previously confirmed negotiations with Apple. In the US it was on sale starting 29 of July, but only after its price was reduced with one third the selling began to grow and therefore Cupertino, California-based Apple announced last week that it had sold 1 million iPhones. There is no other news about other price reduction and despite iPhone's ability to play music, TV shows and movies and browse the Web, Apple will still face some troubles because according to Chris Green, editor of IT Pro, a trade magazine the 290 pounds will scare most of the customers. Also he says that because of the brand they might still pull it over. The hottest product will be available to be acquired.Although Jobs says it is protected to work only on O2, it can be decoded- the news reporters at the conference proved it. Enjoy!
